When the Kilchoman distillery was opened in 2005, it was the first new distillery on the Scottish island of Islay in 124 years. At Kilchoman, a relatively much value is placed on regionality and craft. The barley used for production is to be grown to a certain extent near the burner and is removed on its own malt floors.
